Experience the paddy harvesting season ; ‘Maha Season’ at Jetwing Kaduruketha this March!

beyond, Jetwing Kaduruketha is located on a phenomenal locality where you
can embrace peace and solitude with a scenic escape and relax in absolute
luxury in the most tranquil of surroundings. In an unexplored world of
adventure, at Jetwing Kauduruketha you are able to witness the celebrations of paddy farming and harvesting
festivals of the local Maha (main) and Yala seasons, where the first harvest of
rice is offered to deities in a traditional ceremony known as ‘Dewa Danaya’.
Entering to the Maha Season, land preparation was carried out since 15th of November last year, ceremonially using traditional paddy cultivation methods which denotes the rich Lankan ethnicity and authenticity. Then, the seeding rice/ sowing rice was conducted from 10th of November to 20th of November 2018 ceremonially with the blessings of gods. And now, it is the time to harvest which includes a variety of activities like cutting, stacking, handling, threshing cleaning and hauling, all in an organic farming experience for the first time at Jetwing Kaduruketha, where 10 acres of land is allocated to be used as organic farming by using traditional Sri Lankan varieties of rice and methods, this March.
