Having arrived from various parts of the world such as the United Kingdom, Spain, Austria, China and Mexico, they have already fallen in love with the utmost diverse beauty and the warm hospitality of this country. This team of travel agents is on a 9-Day island-round tour which started from the country’s commercial capital, Colombo on the 13th of May 2019 and hopping into Sigiriya, Trincomalee, Kandy, Hatton, Yala and ending with Weligama. What an island round-tour isn’t it?
After arriving in Colombo, they have enjoyed the magnificent view of the upcoming skyscrapers in the heart of Colombo while witnessing a magical view of the city’s bulb-lit night around the famous Beira Lake getting ready for the alluring Vesak Festival which would commence in the following week. And towards the dawn of the day, they have enjoyed a delicious gourmet dinner at one of the country’s leading luxurious properties located in Colombo; Uga Residence, while they indulged themselves in secluded deluxe hospitality at the Maniumpathy Luxury Boutique Hotel for the first night of their stay.
After a leisurely breakfast at Maniumpathy Luxury Boutique Hotel, next stop in line of the continued adventure was to to explore the world-renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site; Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Prior to leaving Colombo, they have obtained blessings from Gangaramaya Temple which is a local custom and strong belief that it would bless them during their tour. On their way, they have had an amazing time visiting the peaceful village of Hiriwaduna which is located closer to Habarana/Dambulla area. Starting with a scenic walk along the bund of a man made reservoir years ago, they have enjoyed a catamaran ride across the stream-line to visit a chena cultivation, followed by a visit to a humble farmer’s organically grown vegetable corner where they had the chance to pick their own vegetables and join in preparation of a scrumptious Sri Lankan meal to enjoy and taste!
This was when their brains hit the note that they are ‘over the moon!’ loving every second spent on this paradise island!
After resting for the night at our very own boutique property Jetwing Vil Uyana nestling in the jungles, they left to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site; Sigiriya Rock Fortress on a cycling tour from Jetwing Vil Uyana to the UNESCO site entrance, early morning itself! How exciting, energetic that sounds! After this refreshing cycle ride, they climbed this most exquisite example of ancient Sri Lankan art, architecture and landscaping which has a Sky-Palace on top of the rock! Sounds astonishing isn’t it? After exploring this remarkable hidden kingdom in the jungles, breakfast was then served at Jetwing Vil Uyana and are currently on their way towards the tranquil beaches of the east, Trincomalee!
