What to Expect

This itinerary offers selected locations around Sri Lanka, however can be customized to suit your travel plans.

Day 1 : Route – Airport / Negombo

Drive Time – Approx: 20 minutes drive

Accommodation – Jetwing Lagoon

Room Type – Deluxe Room

On arrival, your private chauffeur guide will welcome and greet you with typical Sri Lankan warmth and hospitality and transfer you to the hotel bordering a picturesque lagoon.

Relax in the swimming pool, the longest in Sri Lanka or engage in water sports such as kayaking, canoeing or jet skiing offered by the hotel.

Day 2 : Route – Negombo / Sigiriya

Drive Time – Approx: 4 ½ hours

Accommodation – Aliya Resort & Spa, Sigiriya

Room Type– Deluxe with Attic

Drive to the cultural triangle of the country. En route visit a hand loom factory where an old tradition is being revitalized. There on visit Dambulla Cave Temple.

Day 3 & 4 : Route – Sigiriya / Polonnaruwa / Sigiriya

Drive Time– Approximately 1 hour

Accommodation –Aliya Resort & Spa, Sigiriya

Spend the next 2 days to exploring the majestic ancient cities of  Polonnaruwa, the UNESCO world heritage site at Sigiriya – a towering rock fortress with a fascinating history that is often proclaimed as the eighth wonder of the world.

Thereon spend an amazing afternoon safari in Minneriya National Park. During September to August each year you can experience majestic gathering, an annual event where many elephants can be seen migrating to the water.

Day 5 : Route – Sigiriya / Kithulgala / Belilena caves

Drive Time –  Approx: 4 hours drive

Accommodation – Palm Stone Villa

After breakfast transfer to Kitulgala, and here you can visit Belilena for a cave exploration. Hop on mountain bikes or a 4WD Jeep for this adventurous experience.

In the evening return to you hotel to spend it in leisure.

Day 6 : Route –Kithulgala / Kandy

Drive Time – Approximately 2 hours

Accommodation – Bougainvillea Retreat

After breakfast go rafting in Kitulgala and continue your drive to Kandy.

The Kandy valley crosses an area of tropical plantations with the monumental ensemble of Kandy is an example of construction that associates the Royal Palace and the Temple of the Tooth which you would visit.

While in Kandy,visit the Peradeniya Botanical gardens and take a walk through the paths lined with blooming flora. The garden also has a vibrant collection of orchids.

End the day’s activities with an authentic cultural show including traditional dances and performances.

Day 7 : Route – Kandy / Wallawaya

Drive Time – Approx: 4 hours drive

Accommodation – Jetwing Kaduruketha

Enjoy a short but very scenic train journey for a couple of hours to Ella, the heart of the tea growing industry and full of colonial charm. The slow descend through the tea fields and hill country side with its winding tracks and misty panoramas, offers an unmatched perspective and wonderful experience for the family.

Arrive in Ella station and meet with our driver who will take you to your beautiful hotel located in a paddy field.

Day 8 : Route – Wallawaya

Drive Time – N/A

Accommodation– Jetwing Kaduruketha

Wake up refreshed to the cool breeze sweeping over the paddy ‑fields and the cries of the resident peacocks outside your own private dwellings. Enjoy an authentic Sri Lankan breakfast with pol roti (traditional at bread made with fresh coconut and our), milk rice and lunu miris.

Choose from a range of exciting excursions and activities available at the resort.

Take a refreshing walk through a rural village across paddy fields and farming land. Enjoy a lunch at a farmer’s house along with tea and sweet meats to follow.

In the evening return to your hotel and spend it at leisure.

Day 9 : Route – Wallawaya / Yala

Drive Time – Approx: 2 hours

Accommodation– Jetwing Yala

Room Type– Luxury Camp

Check into your hotel and embark on a journey to the Yala National park for an afternoon safari. Apart from the leopards, there are a large number of elephants living in the park. spotted deer, sambar, wild board, wild buffaloes, sloth bear, jackal and mangoose can also be seen. The bird life there too is fantastic.

Return to the hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 10 : Route- Yala / Galle

Drive Time –  Approx 3.5 hours

Accommodation – Why House, Galle

Room Type – Garden House

After breakfast transfer to Galle. En route to your hotel visit the Galle Fort.

Explore Galle Fort with its low lined streets and history behind its Rampart. The Fort remains a hive of activity and is one of the few World Heritage listed sites in which a bustling population continues to thrive. Walk through the alleys lined with stores and restaurants.

The city has a colorful history, with a Dutch atmosphere which is very much alive and its most popular site is the magnificent Dutch fort.

You have the option of taking a scenic bicycle tour around the villages of Galle.

Day 11 : Route- Galle

Drive Time – N/A

Accommodation– Why House, Galle

Room Type– Garden House

Spend a relaxing day in the lovely hotel.

Enjoy a cookery demonstration.

Visit a turtle hatchery that is located on the west coast of Sri Lanka. Here you will get to see one, two and three day old turtles ready for release in the sea at night.

Day 12 & 13 : Route- Galle / Bentota

Drive Time – Approx 1.5 Hours

Accommodation -Avani Bentota Resorts & Spas

Room Type – Deluxe room

Transfer to a beach resort where you and kids can relax completely. Here you can either relax in the sun or engage in some water sports.

Day 14 : Route- Bentota / Airport

Drive Time – Approx 2.5 Hours

Check out of the hotel and head to the airport for your departing flight full of beautiful memories and experiences of a lifetime.
