Day 1 : Route – Airport / Negombo

Drive Time – Approximately 20 Minutes

Accommodation – Jetwing Thalahena Villas

Meal Basis – Bed and Breakfast

On arrival, check-in at Jetwing Thalahena Villas, Jetwing’s charming beachfront villa located in close proximity to the airport. Relax and rejuvenate in the abundant privacy of the Villa with its warm and cosy comforts.

Spend the day at leisure enjoying a selection of water sports activities on the Negombo lagoon and spend the rest of the evening relaxing with an uninterrupted view of the Indian Ocean at Jetwing Thalahena Villas.

Day 2 : Route – Negombo / Wellawaya

Drive Time –  Approx. 5 hours

Accommodation – Jetwing Kaduruketha

Head over to Wellawaya, a small town surrounded by lofty mountain ranges, bountiful paddy fields and fresh water streams and waterfalls. Wellawaya is located approximately 31 kilometers from Ella.

Arrive at Jetwing Kaduruketha where you will enjoy the rustic charm and stylish simplicity of a unique eco-luxury resort and spend the rest of the day relaxing and sampling the incredible flavours of local cuisine.

Sri Lanka is blessed with abundant wildlife. Udawalawa National Park is one of the best places in the island to spot large gatherings of elephants at a given moment. In the late afternoon, drive up to the park for a safari ride where you will be able to spot elephants, water buffaloes, spotted and sambur deer as well as the endemic toque macaque and grey langurs.

Day 3 : Route – Wellawaya

Wake up to the view of the mystical mountain range overlooking the vast paddy field or lush greenery by the side of your own personal dwelling. After enjoying a mouth-watering assortment of traditional Sri Lankan dishes for breakfast, set of on a bird watching tour in the resort and its surroundings. Jetwing Kaduruketha is located in an intermediate zone resulting in good climatic conditions for a mix of dry and wet zone flora and fauna. During the tour spot some of the endemic birds of Sri Lanka including Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill, Sri Lanka Hanging Parrot, Sri Lanka Emerald-collared Parakeet and Sri Lanka Small Barbet.

After the short bird watching tour, have an archaeology experience by visiting various temples, palace ruins and other such monuments dating back from the 2nd century BC to the 12th century BC.

Buduruwagala, Yudhaganawa and Maligavila are historic sites with many remnants of the ancient past including ancient temple complexes, Buddha statues and stupas. Maligawila consists of a free-standing 11 metre tall Buddha statue (which is claimed to be the tallest free-standing Buddha statue in the world).

Return to the hotel and for some rest and relaxation and enjoy a refreshing drink by the pool.

Day 4 : Route – Wellawaya

Drive Time – N/A

After breakfast, engage in an exhilarating hike to the fall head of Diyaluma Falls – the second largest water fall in Sri Lanka standing at 220 meters. The hike includes climbing/walking through the savannah grassland in Poonagala. Hiking to the top of the fall head from which you can see a breathtaking view of the surroundings.

Enjoy a picnic lunch and then climb down towards the base of the Falls.

After the hike, spend the rest of the evening at the resort taking a dip in the elegantly designed swimming pool that’s design was influenced by ancient architecture.

Day 5 : Route – Wellawaya / Yala

Drive Time – Approx. 1.5 hours

Accommodation – Jetwing Yala

Head over to the wildlife capital of Sri Lanka, Yala and stay at the luxurious Jetwing Yala. Soak up your cares and revitalize your soul at the spa and spend the rest of the day pampering yourself with a wide selection of amenities at your disposal.

Enjoy an evening safari at the Yala National Park. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals including birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and fish. It is also known for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and other aquatic birds.

Day 6 : Route – Yala

Drive Time – Approx. 1.5 hours

Accommodation – Jetwing Yala

Meal Basis – Bed and Breakfast

Enjoy a morning safari at Yala National Park.

Spend the day frolicking by the Beach at Jetwing Yala or going for dip in the ocean watchfully safeguarded by the resort’s internationally trained lifeguards, and later indulge in our dune dining experience with a spectacular vista of the Indian Ocean.

Day 7 : Route – Yala / Negombo

Drive Time – Approx. 5.5 hours

Accommodation – Jetwing Talahena Villas

Meal Basis – Bed and Breakfast

Head over to Negombo for a final day of relaxation at the Villa by your own private plunge pool, or pay a visit to the 100 meter long pool at Jetwing Lagoon located just across the road from the Villa.

Day 8 : Route – Negombo / Airport

Drive Time – Approx. 20 minutes

After breakfast, head to the airport for your departing  flight.
