Day 1 : Route – Airport/ Sigiriya

Day 2 : Route – Sigiriya

After a good night’s sleep and an early breakfast, your first adventure will be a flight around the glorious Sigiriya rock. Take a packed breakfast to fly over one of the island’s most spectacular sights – the 5th century rock fortress. Rising vividly from the central plains, this mysterious rocky outcrop is perhaps Sri Lanka’s most theatrical sight and an added delight to see from above.  Near-vertical walls ascend to a flat-topped peak that contains the remains of an early civilisation, thought to be formerly the epicenter of the brief kingdom of King Kassapa. Enjoy the up-close flight around the fortress and you will see antics of the local monkeys and the art and architecture on every level in the comfort of your jet with no crowds around you at all.

Relax at the resort, have a swim in the pool, cycle around and spend the rest of the evening at your leisure.

Day 3 : Route – Sigiriya / Anuradhapura / Sigiriya

Day 4 : Route – Sigiriya / Hatton

Day 6 : Route – Hatton / Weligama

After a couple of pampered days in the mountains, you may be ready to explore the island’s sun and sand. You’ve waited long enough! Fly through the hills and head south to the dry-zone and into the decadent, white sand beaches of the Galle region.

You can also be lucky enough to spot the stilt fishermen from above and see how they go about their daily lives in the coast.

Do not forget to drop into and explore the Galle fort which is also a Unesco World Heritage Site – or if you wish, you can fly over the same and see the ramparts and architecture. You can fly over the beaches of Hikkaduwa, Dalawalla and Hiriketiya to have truly memorable views of the bays, beaches and lighthouses. Also you can fly over Mirissa and be lucky enough to see whales and dolphins from atop! Mirissa is positioned, just south of the island, which makes it ideal to view blue whales where they ascend from the deep and break the surface to feed on krill. Blues Whales, the biggest of earth’s mammals, along with Sperm Whales, Orcas, Spinner Whales, and dolphins are among the species that can be viewed daily from atop the shimmering blue waters.

Day 8 : Route – Weligama / Airport
