Mr Edmund and Miss George Craster

Dear Ranjith,

What a wonderful, enthusiastic person you are. You have made our holiday into your lovely country so very memorable in the best of ways.

We are so glad you were doing the driving on such challenging roads with quite unbelievable traffic. Tuc-tucs, cows, dogs, dogs, dogs, tuc-tucs, motor cyclists, pedestrians and fast buses, none of whom seemed to look around to see us coming. You see the horn a lot, it expresses so much “Hi, I want to pass”, “Look out” and “Thank You”
You have very fully informed us on all the kings, unfortunately their names are not easy to recall. However it was the stories about them and what they did that stuck in the mind.

Thank you for explaining how things work or do not in your country also.

We were amused at when you stop at a pedestrian crossing and when you do not.
We found you very flexible and we appreciated your suggestions of alternatives and timings, having regard to out preferences, tiredness, hunger and need for pit stops. Your great knowledge of the next restaurant of supermarket proved very useful.

As a fact of knowledge and friendliness, we could not have asked for more. Although we did not fully understand some of your replies, it did not matter and your command of English totally surpasses ours  of Singhalese.
In the hope that you win the lottery and visit England/ Scotland, we wish you well regardless.

Ayubowan!
George asks for your wife’s telephone number….
