Mr. Hiran Cooray, Chairman of Jetwing and PATA will moderate the CSR Day at ITB Berlin 2012
Hiran Cooray has been hailed as a visionary, for his steadfast belief and accomplishments in repositioning Sri Lanka and Asia as a hotspot for international tourism. His unwavering passion and commitment to values has seen the rise of Jetwing as a pioneer in the travel and tourism industry, with properties that are spectacular in their creativity, indulgent in their comfort, and a strong focus on sustainability and responsible tourism.
Appointed by Minister of Economic Development Hon Basil Rajapakse, Hiran is a Board Member of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. He was conferred the title of Sri Lanka Sikhamani by the former President Kumaratunge in recognition of his contribution and vision towards Sri Lanka tourism. Presently serving on the Board of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and currently the Chairman of PATA International for 2010/12, Hiran has served PATA since 1996 and has received several awards for his outstanding work and is a renowned speaker at many international forums representing both Sri Lanka and PATA. He is also the immediate past Chairman of the Responsible Tourism Partnership (RTP) of Sri Lanka. RTP works towards developing and implementing practical sustainable tourism solutions and has implemented flagship projects within the island.
