Why Join This Journey

Not a package.
A considered way to see an island.

Sri Lanka Tailor-Made is the small-group programme of Jetwing Travels, the country's most established travel house. Our journeys are curated by people who live here, hosted by leaders raised here, and stay in the places we return to ourselves.

An intimate group

A maximum of fourteen guests, never more. Every meal has a seat at the table, every experience feels personal.

A leader who is local

Sri Lankan tour leaders born to the places you'll visit. Not scripts. Stories, cousins, hidden doors.

Considered stays

Boutique villas, tented lodges and heritage properties. We stay where we would send a close friend.

Effortless logistics

Private transport, reserved train carriages, unhurried transfers. You arrive rested, not rushed.

Authentic access

A village kitchen. A tea planter's walk. A monk at dawn. Encounters that a coach tour cannot arrange.

Travel that gives back

Every departure supports Jetwing's community and conservation programmes, in place for over four decades.

Asanka Karunaratne

Sri Lankan · English · 20 years leading journeys
“"My job isn't to show you the country. It's to make you feel, for twelve days, that this is your country too."”

Asanka has been leading journeys around Sri Lanka since 2006 and knows how to bring the places along this route to life without making it feel like a history lesson. One moment he might be sharing the story behind an ancient temple or fortress, the next introducing you to a village cook, explaining how tea is made in the hills or helping you spot wildlife in Yala. He keeps things relaxed, knows when to share a story and when to simply let you enjoy the moment.

Every day felt considered. Our group of ten became friends by the second evening, and the balance of guided moments and quiet time was perfect. Nuwan, our leader, was the reason.

I travelled solo and never felt alone. The hotels were extraordinary, and the tented lodge at Yala was a highlight of my travelling life.

We've done many group trips. This was in a different league: unhurried, refined, and genuinely local. The village lunch is still talked about.
