What to Expect

4 Nights / 5 Days

This itinerary has been carefully designed to give you a taste of the exciting, endless possibilities and can be tailored to suit your exact preferences.

Day 1 : Route – Airport / Matale

Drive:  4 hour

Hotel:  Jims Farm Villa – Includes all simple organic meals & yoga

At the airport you will be greeted by your chauffeur guide who will take you into the scenic Matale. Check into your organic farm and relax during the rest of the day.

You can choose to stay in the simple villas, offering you the very best of Sri Lankan simple living, plus fantastic in-house dining, using seasonal, locally sourced produce. You can familiarize yourself in an eco-organic farm and enjoy the delightful climate.

You can either in the farm, at the poolside or in the spa or enjoy memorable day trips to nature parks, ancient temples or fabulous heritage sites, like Pidurangala or Dambulla.  Set amongst wooded hills and next to paddy-fields, the farm is a haven for birds where over hundred species have been spotted so far!

Day 2 : Route – Matale

Highlights:  Yoga, meditation and exploring around the countryside

The organic farm is delighted to offer you an amazing yoga and meditation experience on the spice farm where there is a fully equipped Yoga Pavilion and mats, blocks, belts and ropes, along with a spa as well.

Whether you are a complete beginner wanting to improve your flexibility and general fitness, or an advanced yoga student looking to deepen your practice, the highly qualified teachers can meet each individual’s requirements. You will learn relaxation and breathing techniques to help reduce your stress levels and will therefore leave our island feeling calmer, fitter and more energized in both body and mind.

Practice yoga twice a day and spend the rest of your time immersed in activities such as guided walks, bike rides in the villages, tuk tuk rides, learning to cook traditional peaceful meals to balance your system, milking the cows, coconut farming, making coconut brushes and practicing sustainable and organic measures at the farm.

Day 3 : Route – Matale / Kandy / Digana

Drive:  1.5 hour

Hotel:  Kandy Samadhi Centre – Includes all simple organic meals & yoga

Highlights:  Kandy

Have a lovely simple breakfast and then head to the hills of Kandy where you will check into your organic yoga retreat and relax during the rest of the day.

The awe-inspiring architecture of the location itself inspires mediation as the retreat is nestled among the lush vegetation of the Kandyan hills and is your refuge from the city. The veranda of each suite gives out to immense paddy fields giving you a feeling of utmost privacy without the restriction of walls. Surrounded by Kandyan murals and ancient antiques, the Kandy Samadhi Centre allows you the opportunity to immerse yourself in yoga and take advantage of a wide range of Ayurvedic therapies and mediation waterfalls and streams during your stay. Practice yoga in the afternoon in the serene surroundings and just relax in harmony!

Day 4 : Route – Kandy / Digana

Highlights:  Kandy

Practice yoga in the morning and afternoon as much as you wish! Go bird watching in the morning around the mountains. To cool down you can also go bathing in the nearby river after trekking a waterfall. If feeling adventurous, go on a Knuckles mountain trek on one of the days to admire the nearby mountains. Learn how to manipulate spices in order to cook authentic and flavorful Lankan food for a completely Lankan experience.

Explore the city of Kandy if you wish. Some days Kandy’s skies seem forever bruised, with mist clinging to the mountains surrounding the city’s beautiful central lake. Gentle hill-country breezes compel the mist to softly part, revealing vibrant houses amid Kandy’s forested aura.

The gold-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth holds Sri Lanka’s most important Buddhist artifact – a tooth of Lord Buddha. During ‘puja’ (offerings or prayers), the protected chamber housing the same is open to worshipers and visitors.

With extravagant costumes, revolving dances and heart-stopping, fire-breathing maneuvers, a Kandyan cultural dance is surely one of the most essential experiences of a stay here.

Day 5 : Route – Kandy / Airport

Drive: 4 hour

As all good things must come to an end, your chauffeur guide with comfortably take you to your beach hotel or else to the airport accordingly with pleasant memories.

Kandy Samadhi Centre

Fifty minutes northeast of Kandy the fertile landscape becomes a mass of lush vegetation   reverberating  with unfamiliar birdsong. The human populace too seem a different breed, profligate with smiles and allowing their abundant good sat sung to spill over and cloak the visitor. Go past the triangular ambalama and up the steps where you squeeze past the statue of a giant Hindu goddess – half woman, half horse.
