Every itinerary can be tailored to suit your travel style, preferred experiences and honeymoon plans.
Begin your honeymoon in Sri Lanka with a warm welcome at Bandaranaike International Airport, where your chauffeur guide will greet you and transfer you to Jetwing Beach Hotel in Negombo.
Located on Sri Lanka’s west coast, close to the international airport, Negombo is a coastal town shaped by Portuguese, Dutch and British influences. Its lagoon, canals, fishing community and beachside setting make it a gentle introduction to the island after your flight.
Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Relax by the pool, enjoy the beach, settle into your room or simply take in your first sunset over the Indian Ocean.
After breakfast, leave the coast behind and travel inland towards Sigiriya. Your journey takes you through rural landscapes, rice paddy fields and the town of Kurunegala, where a towering Buddha statue on a rock marks the skyline.
In the late afternoon, visit the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Rising over 200 metres from the surrounding landscape, this 5th century fortress is one of the island’s most remarkable ancient landmarks.
Walk through landscaped water gardens, pass the famous frescoes and continue through the Lion’s Paw entrance before reaching the summit, where sweeping views stretch across the Cultural Triangle.
Later, retreat to Jetwing Vil Uyana for a relaxed evening in Sigiriya.
Begin the day with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Polonnaruwa, one of Sri Lanka’s ancient capitals. This remarkable archaeological site is home to royal palaces, sacred temples, carved stone monuments and ancient reservoirs that reveal the scale and sophistication of the island’s early kingdoms.
Explore highlights of the ancient city before continuing in the afternoon for a jeep safari at Minneriya National Park or the neighbouring Kaudulla National Park, depending on seasonal wildlife movement.
Accompanied by an expert naturalist guide, search for wild Asian elephants, deer, buffalo, crocodiles, monkeys and a variety of birdlife. Minneriya is especially known for the seasonal Gathering, when large numbers of elephants are drawn to the ancient reservoir during the dry months.
Return to Jetwing Vil Uyana in the evening.
After a leisurely breakfast, continue to Kandy, the island’s historic hill capital. Set among green hills and tea country, Kandy remains one of Sri Lanka’s most important cultural and spiritual cities.
Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of the most revered Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka. Before entering, you may pick a flower from the nearby flower market and offer it at the temple with a lit oil lamp, a meaningful local tradition associated with peace and blessings.
After your temple visit, proceed to Jetwing Kandy Gallery, a tranquil riverside retreat in Gurudeniya, where the evening is at leisure.
Expert tip: Please wear clothing that covers your shoulders and knees when visiting the temple. Shoes should be removed before entering
After breakfast, travel through Sri Lanka’s central highlands towards Ella. The journey unfolds through tea country, mountain roads, waterfalls and small hill country villages.
Arrive in Ella, a scenic village surrounded by green hills and views through the famous Ella Gap. Visit Ravana Ella Falls and the Demodara Nine Arch Bridge, one of the island’s most photographed railway landmarks, set against a backdrop of tea estates and forested slopes.
Spend time in Ella’s relaxed village atmosphere, with the option to enjoy a local Beli flower drink, explore small cafés or take in the views before descending from the cool hills to the dry plains of Wellawaya.
Arrive at Jetwing Kaduruketha, your rustic eco-retreat set among paddy fields, forest and mountain scenery. With open views across the landscape, this is a peaceful place to experience rural Sri Lanka in comfort.
Spend the day enjoying the landscapes around Wellawaya and Ella at your own pace.
For a soft adventure, take an early morning or evening hike to Little Adam’s Peak, where the trail rewards you with wide views across rolling hills and tea country. Alternatively, cycle to the hidden Ella Wala Waterfall, passing paddy fields, village scenery, riverbeds and streams before reaching a natural pool that is ideal for a refreshing dip.
You may also choose to remain at Jetwing Kaduruketha and explore the property’s nature trails, home to over 100 tree species. In the evening, a guided night walk can introduce you to the nocturnal side of the landscape, from owls and frogs to insects and other small wildlife.
After breakfast, travel south towards the coast, with a visit to the historic city of Galle en route.
Explore Galle Fort on foot, a living UNESCO World Heritage Site with Dutch colonial buildings, old churches, museums, boutique cafés, restored villas, art galleries and ocean-facing ramparts. Walk towards the marketplace and the iconic lighthouse, taking time to enjoy the atmosphere of this historic coastal city.
Later, continue to Bentota and spend the rest of the evening at leisure at Jetwing Saman Villas, a romantic luxury resort overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Spend the day at leisure by the beach.
Bentota is one of Sri Lanka’s most loved coastal destinations, known for its golden sands, resort-fringed coastline and relaxed seaside atmosphere. Enjoy time together at Jetwing Saman Villas, whether you prefer the beach, pool, spa or quiet moments overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Optional excursions can also be arranged. Visit the Sea Turtle Farm and Hatchery in Koggala to learn about turtle conservation and rehabilitation, or travel to Mirissa, a crescent-shaped beach town known for its coastal scenery, local eateries and seasonal whale watching.
As your honeymoon in Sri Lanka comes to an end, enjoy breakfast before your chauffeur guide transfers you to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure flight.
Take home memories of ancient cities, sacred traditions, mountain landscapes, wildlife encounters, rural beauty and quiet days by the sea.
