The Weir House

What is it Really like?

The Weir House is set on a 6-acre property, and is built on a mountainside.  The house is nestled within a grove of clove trees.  Verdant forest landscapes envelop you, and a river gurgles at the bottom of the property.  The house has four bedrooms – and can accommodate a group of family and friends.  The living areas are large, and with several gardens, a wading pool and scenic treks, there’s ample opportunity for both camaraderie and solitude.

Where is it?

You can reach the Weir House by traveling on either the Kandy Road or the Hatton Road.  Travel time on the Kandy Road is approximately 4 hours, and 3 ½ hours on the Hatton Road.  If, you wish us to, the Weir House would be happy to assist you in organizing your transportation.

The Intercity Express train leaves the Colombo Fort Railway station every day at 7.00am and arrives at Peradeniya at 9.30am.  From Peradeniya you would have to re-board another train departing at 10.00am – heading to the village of Ulapane.  The staff of the Weir House will meet you at the Ulapane train station.
